American
Greetings collaborated with The Solutions Group to help with their shortage of
industrial electricians. Rather than hire additional workers at American
Greetings, they hand-picked a group of employees to attend classes and increase
their skill level. The Solutions Group and AG customized a series of electrical
trainings for these individuals. Electricity & Electronics
Instructor, Steve Crosskno conducted all of the training at Arkansas
Northeastern College’s Center for Allied Technologies and American Greetings.
The training started in January 2018 and ended December 2019. The training was
approximately 208 classroom and lab hours. The training included five classes,
Basic Electricity I, Basic Electricity II, AC/ DC Machines, Programmable
Logical Controllers (Allen Bradley) and Industrial Motor Controls. Great
River Economic Development Foundation and Office of Skills Development covered
100% of the total cost of training. After successful completion in December
2019, 13 AG employees earned the ANC Certificate of Proficiency in Industrial
Electrical.
