Southworth & TSG Customize a Basic Electricity Course

Spring 2016 - College Credit Earned by Customizing a Basic Electricity Course for Southworth

The Solutions Group and Southworth customized a 3-hour college credit course geared towards the need of their electrical department. The class has 10 Southworth employees enrolled. These employees attend class two nights per week after their work day is over at the ANC Crisp Center to learn the following topics.

  • Electrical Safety
  • Circuit Construction
  • Single and Three Phase Voltage
  • Transformers
  • Control Devices
  • Relays
  • Single Phase Motors
  • Three Phase Motors
  • DC Motor Design
  • Motor Starters
  • NEC Code Basics
  • Installation Techniques
  • Nema Enclosures
Southworth received Existing Workforce Training Program money provided by Arkansas Economic Development Commission to help fund this customized project for them. TSG would like to thank Southworth, Shelly Barley, and all of the employees from the electrical department who helped our instructors, Rick Sones and Steve Crosskno, develop this customized credit curriculum. We look forward to providing more electrical training for Southworth in the near future!
