NYS - Excel 2013 & Earns 3 Hours College Credit

February - May, 10 Nucor Yamato Steel employees took an Excel 2013 (Spreadsheet Applications) course online to learn how to work and manipulate Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets on the job.
This course is an introduction to electronic spreadsheet concepts and terminology, using current applications software. The fundamentals of worksheets, graphics, and databases are employed to develop good problem-solving skills. A variety of what if conditions are explored in business, mathematics, and other areas.

After successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:



·    Create, manage and share worksheets and workbooks.
·    Create cells and ranges.
·    Create tables.
·    Apply simple and advanced formulas and functions.
·    Create charts and objects.
·    Apply custom formats and layouts.


Along with earning 3 hours of college credit from Arkansas Northeastern College, these students also earned a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification that is nationally recognized. 

Instructor, Stacey Walker incorporated the online learning which allowed the students to work from home/work and allowed them to spend extra time using software such as MYITLAB and GMETRIX to practice.  

With the help of EWTP grant assistance, the employees did not have to pay for this training themselves!
