Blue Oak Arkansas, not a new name to Mississippi County, but a NEW Client for The Solutions Group. Late last year, the TSG staff began their contact with Mark Wester, Plant Manager. Our relationships have grown and now we are working on several projects with them.
August 15th and 16th, 8 Blue Oak employees, traveled to the ANC Crisp Center to certify their workers in OSHA 10. Joe Crews, Adjunct Instructor, taught the course and some of the topics included in the OSHA 10 are as follows:
- Introduction to OSHA
- OSHA Electrical
- Walking and working surfaces including fall protection
- Hazardous Communication
- Personal Protective Equipment
Scott Follett, Mechanical Instructor, has began a long term project on sampling and training 2 people in Six Sigma Green Belt which is an 80 hour lean manufacturing program. Six Sigma Green Belt has two primary tasks: first, to help successfully deploy
Six Sigma techniques, and second, to lead small-scale improvement
projects within their respective areas. As a support population, Green
Belts can do much of the legwork in gathering data and executing
experiments in support of a Black Belt project. During the Six Sigma
Green Belt Training these employees will learn how to use many of the Six Sigma
problem-solving methods and statistical tools to contribute to the
success of the organization.
