Pre-Employment Training for Big River Steel
Arkansas Northeastern College (ANC) Solutions Group and Big
River Steel(BRS) partner to conduct Pre-Employment Training for Big River
Steel. ANC Solutions Group’s full-time and adjunct instructors are conducting
multiple sessions of Pre-Employment Training. These applications go through a
screening process conducted by ANC Solutions Group staff, and also completed
the requirements with TempsPlus. Once the applicant passes all screening
processes then they will be scheduled for Pre-Employment Training through ANC
Solutions Group. Sessions include day, night, weekend, or an online training
option for individuals who have applied for a General Production Operator’s position
with BRS.
Pre-Employment Training is a 28-Hour Training track that covers the following courses:
Radio Protocol; this course explains the importance of getting familiar with the
etiquette of two-way radio communication.
Preventative Maintenance; this course is to introduce the care and service operation to
personnel for the purpose of maintaining equipment and facilities in
satisfactory operating condition.
Control of Monitoring and Measuring Devices; this course is to provide confidence
of the measurement results by controlling the monitoring and measuring devices
used.
Fundamentals of Blueprint Reading; this course is designed for developing skills in the
reading and accurately interpreting industrial drawings
First Aid/CPR; this
course is designed to introduce student to basic first aid and CPR concepts and
practices in the workplace.
To date
there have been four cycles of day, night, weekend and online training with a
total of 204 individuals that have completed training. After successful completion
of the training these applicants receive a Certificate of Completion, and a
nationally recognized First Aid/CPR Card.
