During the week of Spring Break, March 21st and 22nd, Instructor Rob Semmel trained 11 BlueOak Arkansas employees in OSHA 10 for General Industry. BlueOak Arkansas’ goal is to have a safe workforce. In the OSHA 10 training, the company has the ability to select three hours of elective topics from the OSHA agenda. Topics in the OSHA 10 for General Industry include:

o   Electrical – 1 hour.
o   Personal Protective Equipment – 1 hour.
o   Hazard Communication – 1 hour.

This training program is intended to provide entry-level, general, industry workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards, which a worker may encounter. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, and OSHA standards.
Funding from the Great River Economic Development Foundation grant program supported 25% of the total cost of training. Thanks BlueOak, GREDF, & our Trainers!
