Arkansas Northeastern College – The
Solutions Group trained 20 Nucor Steel Arkansas employees in AutoCAD Electrical
and AutoCAD Raster 2018 in January and February, 2018. These products are
widely used at Nucor Steel in a variety of departments. This 40-hour customized
training session that taught the electricians, project electricians, electrical
engineers, and crane electricians how to use this software. Training was
customized using drawings and prints that were custom to Nucor Hickman.
Instructor, Kenneth McVea walked the participants through creating digital
electrical drawings as well as converting paper drawings to digital files.
Many of the employees who attended
this training also trained in blueprint reading for structural and blueprint
reading for Electrical training in 2017.
This training was completely paid
for by Office of Skills Development Grant and Great River Economic Development
Foundation grant valued at approximately $18,000. Thank you Nucor Steel, GREDF, OSD and the
