BLI Tour 2017


On November 15, 2017, the Allied Technologies faculty and staff hosted the second annual Blytheville Leadership Institute (BLI) tour and breakfast. The group of approximately 30 members started at the ANC Crisp Center, visited five different stations (classrooms) to view some of our main components as the Allied Technologies Department such as Occupational Programs, The Solutions Group  (customized training), Business and Technical, and Aeronautics.

Rob Semmel demonstrated Fluid Power applications and led hands on activities working with a Hydraulic/Pneumatic Simulator. Brent Carroll showed the Lincoln Virtual Welder, discussed the welding degree plans, graduation rates, and pay scale. Then, BLI group members tried out the virtual welder!



Scott Follett demonstrated an activity using robot kits, this short demonstrated showed the group that in ANC’s Advanced Manufacturing program, the students’ progress from building logic to making a robot automate without human interaction.


The final room consisted of Steve Crosskno performing a demonstration on Programmable Logic Controllers and relay switches with an overview of additional electrical classes. Rick Sones spoke about the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at ANC and nationally recognized certifications students can obtain while going through the ACR program. 



The BLI group drove to the ANC ACME Center where Mr. Cierzniewski and Mr. Carroll led the group through the aviation and welding areas of the ACME Center. The group then drove to Main Campus to meet Dr. Shemwell for a tour and lunch.
