The ANC Solutions Group provided several
flex courses to Nucor Yamato and Nucor Steel during the spring semester. Flex
course are offered on a schedule that rotates to fit the work schedules of the
employees. Because the Office of Skills Development Grant and the Great River
Economic Development Foundation Grant paid 100% of the total cost of training,
the companies were able to take advantage of the training for free. Courses
provided were Industrial Motor Controls, Basic Electricity, Maintenance Welding, and Mechanical Drives and Bearings.
Approximately 33 employees attended these courses and received college credit
after completion.
