Long-term partner, Kagome reached out to the Solutions Group to train eight individuals in OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard). This training will allow them to safely execute procedures in the initial stages of a chemical release emergency. During July, 2019 these eight individuals participated in drills to allow them to develop an emergency plan within their organization. Another eight individuals will be trained at a later date to make sure that all shifts are covered with a trained emergency response team member. Chad Welch (Maintenance and Project Manager at Kagome), Doug Echols (Talent Development Manager) created this plan and training schedule with the assistance of The Solutions Group and SAU Tech. Instructor, Rickey Cole. Training was conducted at Kagome on two consecutive weekends. Great River Economic Development Foundation grant was awarded to cover 25% of the total cost of training. Thank you all partners involved!
