Steel Tech Academy - Interns Volunteer @ BRS Fun Day

August 5 and 6th ANC along with 10 high school seniors from various schools all joined in  enjoy a fun-filled Splash Bash at Big River Steel (BRS).  The students were introduced to several BRS team members and were able to get what it is like in a daily life working at BRS.   Not only did the students get a chance to see what BRS had to offer they were given the opportunity to be a part of the team.  Lending hands where any task needed doing.  Working at the sign in booth, they handed out shirts and other goodies to the BRS team members and their families.  A few students even went beyond and hopped into the dunk booth, (granted the water was a welcomed sight, as it was quite warm over the weekend).  The students learned the importance of working in high temperature environments and how to ensure proper hydration along with taking breaks to cool off.  All in all the event was a great success, the food was amazing, the tunes were jamming and the BRS team was open and welcoming and we can't wait to continue building the relationship between ANC and BRS.
