Anthony Mula’s PLC course includes comprehensive, hands-on projects at the end of the program. In one such project, a student group developed programming models that resulted in a fully functional working product line known as DF1. This system was originally designed and built by an Omnium (now Gowan Milling) employee (Dale Truelove) and later donated to ANC in 2018 as a training model of their facility.
The DF1 model provides students with a realistic, industry-based platform to apply PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation skills in a simulated production environment. The next step is to take the students that worked on this project to tour Gowan Milling.
