ANC Allied Technologies Trains 90 Gowan Milling Employees in Comprehensive Employee Development

Arkansas Northeastern College's - Solutions Group Division completed  an extensive employee development training program for 90 Gowan Milling employees, reinforcing the company's commitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

The three-day training program, led by Solutions Group instructor Adron Poole, provided employees with more than 24 hours of instruction covering critical topics, OSHA awareness, quality systems, and industry best practices. The training was designed to strengthen employee knowledge while promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the facility.

The program began with remarks from Gowan Milling leadership, including company owners, the plant manager, quality supervisor, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) supervisor. Each emphasized that safety remains the organization's highest priority and highlighted the important role every employee plays in maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Throughout the training, participants completed OSHA awareness modules and received instruction on topics including ergonomics, confined spaces, fall protection, bloodborne pathogens, walking-working surfaces, emergency action planning, hazardous communication, electrical safety, heat stress prevention, personal protective equipment, machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, hazardous materials awareness, forklift safety, contractor safety, spill prevention, compressed gas safety, and basic rigging.

In addition to safety instruction, Gowan Milling personnel delivered quality-focused sessions covering Quality Management Systems, Non-Conforming Materials, and Contamination Prevention, reinforcing the company's commitment to product quality and continuous improvement.

A key component of the training was the interactive teaching approach utilized by instructor Adron Poole. Rather than relying solely on classroom lectures, Poole engaged participants through hands-on reinforcement activities, group discussions, practical examples, and real-world workplace scenarios. These activities encouraged employee participation, strengthened knowledge retention, and helped employees connect training concepts to their daily job responsibilities.

The program concluded with a comprehensive examination and certificate presentation, recognizing employees for successfully completing the training requirements.

Arkansas Northeastern College - Solutions Group is proud to partner with industry leaders such as Gowan Milling to deliver customized workforce development solutions that enhance employee skills, improve workplace safety, and support organizational success. Through partnerships like these, ANC continues to strengthen the regional workforce and provide high-quality training that meets the evolving needs of employers across Northeast Arkansas.
