Emergency Medical Responder Training

Over the last several months, we have been doing several on site trainings at Big River Steel and Hybar. These EMR trainings teach a variety of medical skills over an 80 class with both a lecture portion and a hands on skills. These include oral and nasal airways, treating wounds, splints and CPR if requested or needed. These classes are taught by Bryan and Emily Dunham.

Bryan has a large background as a first responder, and a nationally registered EMT with a few local ambulance services as well as traveled to other states during disasters as extra help. He also has a large background in teaching, as he has taught in several different settings.

Emily is also a nationally registered EMT and works full-time at Pafford on an ambulance. She previously worked at a medical clinic doing medical billing, but also cross trained in other departments. She is newer to teaching in this style, but does have some teaching skills under her belt.

These trainings are essential in our local steel mills, and we look forward to continuing this training across the two steel mills and adding more in the future. Thank you for entrusting our instructors to continually teach and expand the knowledge of your teammates.
