Donation from Zekelman to ANC Solutions Group

Zekelman Industries has reaffirmed its commitment to workforce development through a significant donation of programmable logic controller (PLC) equipment to Arkansas Northeastern College (ANC). This investment strengthens hands-on technical training and positions ANC as a central training hub for Zekelman team members across North America.

The newly donated PLC equipment has transformed the learning environment by allowing instructors to replicate real-world industrial automation systems. Under the leadership of Anthony Mula, students are now able to simulate live data transfer between programmable logic controllers—mirroring the complex communication systems they encounter in modern manufacturing facilities.

By recreating these real-world scenarios, trainees gain practical experience in:

  • PLC programming and troubleshooting

  • Industrial communication protocols

  • Data transfer between multiple controllers

  • Diagnosing automation system faults

This hands-on simulation ensures that both Zekelman employees and other students are prepared to step directly into high-demand automation roles.

The equipment donation supports a comprehensive five-session training program, with each session consisting of  approximately 40 hours of intensive instruction. This 200-hour program is designed specifically for Zekelman employees under the guidance of LT Ferguson and Alex Robinson of Zekelman while also enhancing opportunities for other advanced manufacturing students at ANC.

Thank you partners for your generous donation and for allowing us to train your workforce.
